COVID-19 Updates for Today
- Coos County received its second positive case yesterday.
- In addition to our second positive case, Coos County Public Health knows of 461 COVID-19 tests that have been administered to county residents. 7 of these tests are pending results and 452 are negative.
- Oregon Health Authority has reported 2,002 positive cases of COVID-19 (46 new cases) in Oregon, as well as 78 deaths (3 new deaths) to date.
- As of April 21, 2020, the CDC reported 776,093 total cases (29,468 new cases) and 41,758 total deaths (2,675 new deaths) in the United States.
- As of April 21, 2020, Johns Hopkins reports that 75,177 individuals have recovered (3,254 new recoveries) from COVID-19 in the United States.
- As of April 21, 2020, the World Health Organization reports 2,553,853 confirmed cases (239,232 new cases) and 176,323 deaths (18,476 new deaths).
- New Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) comes into effect on April 1st requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
