COVID-19 Updates for Today

  • In addition to our first positive case, Coos County Public Health knows of 405 COVID-19 teststhat have been administered to county residents. 19 of these tests are pending results and 385 are negative.
  • Oregon Health Authority has reported 1,785 positive cases of COVID-19 (49 new cases) in Oregon, as well as 70 deaths (6 new deaths) to date.
  • As of April 17, 2020, the CDC reported 661,712 total cases (29,164 new cases) and 33,049 total deaths (8,467 new deaths) in the United States.
  • As of April 17, 2020, the World Health Organization reported 2,074,529 confirmed cases (82,967 new cases) and 139,378 deaths (8,493 new deaths).
  • New Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) comes into effect on April 1st requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
