Global Big Latch On
The Global Big Latch event takes place at registered locations around the world where people gather together to breastfeed and offer peer support to each other on Breastfeeding week August 2nd, 3rd and 4th. WIC will join this event by having a registered location at Ferry Road Park on Saturday, August 3rd. At around 10:00am we will count the number of children breastfeeding at the same time (the latch count is at 10:30am), how many breastfeeding people gathered and the total number of people who come out to show their support, so bring as many friends and family members as you can.
Participants can be included in the latch count by latching a child or children; using a supplemental nursing system or nipple shield; expressing milk (hand or pump) or by feeding their child breastmilk via an alternative method. Children do not have to stay latched for the whole time and all ages are very welcome.

El evento Global Big Latch se lleva a cabo en lugares registrados en todo el mundo donde las personas se reúnen para amamantar y ofrecerse apoyo mutuo en la semana de lactancia materna el 2, 3 y 4 de agosto. WIC se unirá a este evento al tener una ubicación registrada en Ferry Road Park el sábado 3 de agosto. Alrededor de las 10:00 am, contaremos la cantidad de niños que amamantan al mismo tiempo (el recuento es a las 10:30 am), la cantidad de personas que amamantan y la cantidad total de personas que asisten al evento para mostrar su apoyo. Así es que trae a tantos amigos y familiares como puedas.
Los participantes pueden ser incluidos en el recuento al amamantar a un niño o niños; utilizando un sistema suplementario o protector de pezón; Extrayendo la leche (a mano o utilizando una bomba) o alimentar a su hijo con leche materna a través de un método alternativo. Los niños no tienen que permanecer en el seno todo el tiempo y todas las edades son bienvenidas.
