COVID-19 Updates for Today
- Coos County received its eighth positive case yesterday.
- In addition to our eighth positive case, Coos County Public Health knows of 518 COVID-19 tests that have been administered to county residents. 27 of these tests are pending results and 483 are negative.
- Oregon Health Authority has reported 2,177 positive cases of COVID-19 (50 new cases) in Oregon, as well as 86 deaths (3 new deaths) to date.
- As of April 24, 2020, the CDC reported 865,585 total cases (37,144 new cases) and 48,816 total deaths (2,243 new deaths) in the United States.
- As of April 24, 2020, Johns Hopkins reports that 96,673 individuals have recovered (16,753 new recoveries) from COVID-19 in the United States.
- As of April 24, 2020, the World Health Organization reports 2,626,321 confirmed cases (81,529 new cases) and 181,938 deaths (6,260 new deaths).
- New Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) comes into effect on April 1st requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
