COVID-19 Updates for Today

  • Coos County received its fourth positive case yesterday.
  • In addition to our fourth positive case, Coos County Public Health knows of 487 COVID-19 tests that have been administered to county residents. 14 of these tests are pending results and 469 are negative.
  • Oregon Health Authority has reported 2,127 positive cases of COVID-19 (125 new cases) in Oregon, as well as 83 deaths (5 new deaths) to date.
  • As of April 23, 2020, the CDC reported 828,441 total cases (25,858 new cases) and 46,379 total deaths (1,804 new deaths) in the United States.
  • As of April 23, 2020, Johns Hopkins reports that 79,920 individuals have recovered (2,580 new recoveries) from COVID-19 in the United States.
  • As of April 23, 2020, the World Health Organization reports 2,544,792 confirmed cases (73,657 new cases) and 175,694 deaths (6,689 new deaths).
  • New Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) comes into effect on April 1st requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
