COVID-19 Updates for Today
- In addition to our first positive case, Coos County Public Health knows of 397 COVID-19 teststhat have been administered to county residents. 18 of these tests are pending results and 378 are negative.
- Oregon Health Authority has reported 1,736 positive cases of COVID-19 (73 new cases) in Oregon, as well as 64 deaths (6 new deaths) to date.
- As of April 16, 2020, the CDC reported 632,548 total cases (27,158 new cases) and 24,582 total deaths (2,430 new deaths) in the United States.
- As of April 16, 2020, the World Health Organization reported 1,991,562 confirmed cases (76,647 new cases) and 130,885 deaths (7,875 new deaths).
- New Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) comes into effect on April 1st requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.

- The next COVID-19 situation update will be sent on April 17, 2020. We are not sending out updates on the weekend because official counts from CDC are only updated on Mondays through Fridays.
