As a community service, CHW provides an initial visit to all requesting individuals. This visit can occur during our open walk-in hours from 8 to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday or over the telephone by contacting our non-emergency phone line at 541-266-6700. In this first visit we will try to provide short term support and assistance and work with you to identify the kind of help you may need and where you can get it. If you decide you want ongoing services from us, this will likely require a secondary visit in order to complete a formal evaluation.
CHW provides many services for individuals that are covered by the Oregon Health Plan and is a preferred behavioral health provider for members of Advanced Health, the local Coordinated Care Organization for the Oregon Health Plan. CHW also provides services to Coos County residents with mental health conditions who have no insurance or Medicare only and are needing care to avoid serious health events such as harm to themselves, or others. No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay. There is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.
CHW provides a comprehensive range of mental health services supports including individual, family therapy, psychiatric services, case management and skills training.
CHW is the only local provider for many specialized mental health services for both adults and youth with more significant needs including intensive levels of care that also incorporate housing, employment, peer and family supports and other interventions focused on helping people be successful within our community..
While CHW generally accepts Oregon Health Plan insurance we also are accepting a number of commercial insurance plans for psychiatric services including Blue Cross, PacificSource, MODA, Providence and others.
Please note emergency and crisis response services are also available at all times through our crisis line at 541-266-6800.
Free interpreter services are available to all those in need including Spanish speaking individuals and members of our deaf community.
