Transfer of the Onsite Wastewater Management Program

Coos County Community Development is pleased to announce the transfer of the Onsite Wastewater Management Program from the Oregon DEQ. This transition will provide residents with faster access to permitting and quality checks, minimizing delays and costs for building projects.

Proper septic system function is crucial for protecting public health and water quality. Our Environmental Health Specialist will be located within the Coos County Community Development Department in Coquille for convenient service.

Please note that DEQ applications will be processed by Coos County starting April 7th. To accommodate this transition, the application system will be down from March 29th to April 6th. The final date for DEQ applications before the shutdown is March 28th.
